Code Unatio: New formatter engine

Added by major over 1 year ago

While the Textile engine is very capable, it does not tend to be all that intuitive to the casual Wiki editor, nor is it prone to producing useful text documents that are easily readable. For these reasons we have moved to using the Markdown Extra Formatter plug-in for RedMine.

This means that all the content which previously used the Textile engine, which is default with Redmine, will need to be updated.

Code Unatio: Site online

Added by major almost 3 years ago

Well, I finally have the start of what will hopefully grow to be something much larger. Code Unatio is something I had been working towards for quite some time, alas the final product was developed by someone else completely with no input from myself. While RedMine is not exactly the solution to all the problems I ever tried to solve in group development, it is a solution to many of the problems.

Time and experience hopefully solved the other problems with in myself.

FMI/OS: FMI/OS website back on-line

Added by major almost 3 years ago

I have been wanting to get this site back up and operational for a while, but many of the tools where missing for the sort of colaboration that I felt FMI/OS used. I spent a lot of time trying to glue stuff together using Trac and a number of other solutions, but eventually the burden of administration continually detracted from the process of development.

During the last few months I have been doing some contract work and set up a RedMine installation for development at the customer site. I have been quite pleased with it thus far and have found that it seems to resolve nearly every issue that we chronically ran into in the past. So I decided to give it a go for FMI/OS.

There is a ton of work left to be done still as we used a tons of plugins in the past that don't exactly leave the wiki pages in a completely compatible format. Hopefully the cleanup work wont be another total burden.
